Happy New Year!! That photo there was from my last run of 2019. I took a wee spin over the mucky roads around East Lothian here in south east Scotland a few days before Christmas. Mikey Sunter (the K75) is proving to be a great winter bike. I'm using Scottoiler FS365 to keep the corrosion at bay. It's straightforwards to use. Spray it over the whole bike before you put it away. Once dry it leaves an oily film over the bike hopefully keeping the bike protected against the salt and the elements. It makes washing the bike a quick and easy job too. I'm trying to wash Mikey Sunter down after every run and it all seems to be working.
My first run of the year was my favourite "up the hills and doon the coast" local spin. It was great to get out for a couple of hours, the Lammermuir hills and the East Lothian coast looking good in the winter sun.
A few days later I was out again, this time with the Lothian and Borders Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club for their Frost Bike Run. Mike Gray and I took a spin down to the Barony Castle Hotel where they meet. There was quite a few folk out for the spin. Dennis who organises the rides always had a good route on wee roads. The actual run was short, only twenty miles or so but it was great to see so many bikes out. the run may be called "The Frost Bike Run" but it was pretty warm, around 10 degrees! Crazy for January. We stopped for a coffee and shot the shit for a bit before heading back to the Barony where Mike and I had a look around the Polish Map Of Scotland. I won't post a photo of it but if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out.
It's now getting a bit colder and I've got the urge to get away a bit further on the bike........
More soon.
Mike
